Our BeBhakti & Katonah Yoga retreat will be held at the Villa Bellamar, a small, private resort-villa on the sands of Half Moon Bay. We will truly retreat here, enjoying nature, community, incredible food and inspired movement with a crystalline Caribbean backdrop, all while winter has it’s final hurrah back in New York.
Akumal is a small village north of Tulum with clear ocean waters, underground rivers and exposed limestone caverns which create jewel like swimming “pools” of sea water and wildlife. Akumal is one of the more peaceful parts of the bustling Riviera Maya: a true retreat with easy access to the excitement and action of Tulum and Cancun.
Each room in the villa has an ocean view, private veranda and bath. There is a private pool & sun deck. Our yoga studio will be by the pool and comes equipped with props, shade, an ocean breeze and a view of the bay.
We’ll be diving into practices that will inspire change in our hearts, minds, organs, glands, nervous systems and lives. And we will be relaxing and enjoying the beauty of Half Moon Bay. Yoga classes will accommodate all levels and we welcome all bodies.
YOU DETERMINE THE PACE
We will ground our day each morning with guided yoga, followed by a relaxed breakfast together. Then you get to make a choice— carve out the custom retreat of your imagination or go along with the flow of the group schedule. Opportunities for fun and rest abound—read and lounge in a hammock by the pool, swim and snorkel with the sea turtles in the tranquil waters of the bay, take part in a planned excursion or workshop, treat yourself to a spa treatment, or dive into your yoga practice with a therapeutic private session.

ABOUT KATONAH YOGA®
Katonah Yoga is a syncretic Hatha yoga practice developed by Nevine Michaan over 40 years. She and her teachers incorporate classical Hatha yoga with Taoist theory, geometry, magic, mythology, metaphor, and imagination — in a practical framework designed to potentiate personal and communal well-being.
Framing the practice, maps of time and personal space are defined and refined. Themes using asana as origami, manipulating form for function, and developing a sense of personal measure are incorporated in Katonah Yoga practices.
Katonah Yoga is organized around three principles of esoteric dialogue: all polarities are mediated by trinity; the universe has pattern, pattern belies intelligence; by virtue of repetition there is potential for insight.
Disciplined techniques are organized for revelation through revolutions.
